ABC of social media marketing

ABC of social media marketing

Who hasn’t studied A for Apple and B for Ball? While even your grandmother must be knowing the conventional ABC, as a millennial you should be aware of the ABC of social media marketing. Being the most effective platform to influence people, social media, is widely used now to promote your online and offline businesses.

In the world of digital marketing, A stand for attracting the right audience. Pondering on how to draw the right audience, organically, you have to work triple times harder than the paid marketing strategies. You have to reach out to each of your follower or liker manually when you attract the audience yourself. But how will you know that the person you reached out is the right target for your business? There is particularly no way by which you can be sure that the audience is right. Adding hashtags to your posts will also help you with targeting the right audience for your business page since interested people will search the hashtags. As you promote your brand by making individual efforts, you have to check the interest of every person you target.

Managing the ads is another way to publicise your page. While you may think that paid promotions will burn a hole in your pocket, what you don’t know is that they will give you better results. Ad manager broadly monitors three types of campaigns; awareness, consideration, and conversion. Brand awareness and reach are two types of campaigns which falls under awareness category, and traffic, lead generation, engagement, and message falls under consideration category. Conversion campaigns are mostly created by e-stores to keep a record of their sales and store visits.

Setting your ad means to filter its audience, placement, and budget. You can narrow down the reach of your post by refining the campaign process. First, provide an Ad set name for your campaign, and then custom your audience accordingly. Let’s say your ad is about clothes specifically for the women falling in India, under the age of 22-30. Therefore, customising these filters will narrow down the reach, making it visible to the Indian women of this age. This will impact in targeting the right audience. If you would not have refined your reach, then your ad would have been viewed by a large number but may not have reached the desired audience. You can also add other details for your target audience, which includes their interest, likes, or shares.

After setting the audience for your ad, fix a budget and duration of your ad. You will be paying the cost per impression of the advertisement as the rate falls after a period.

B stands for boost posts and blog sharing. When you share a post on your Facebook page, your motto is to engage the users with your post. The post could either be interactive, entertaining, or informative for the users. The shared page reaches to the people who have liked your page and are following it, but boosting your post will increase its reach overall. When you choose to boost your post, it asks you for specific credentials to fill and select your target audience. Just like you filtered the ad previously, you can filter the boost.

While your informative post will bring more people to your page, who are keen to know and learn; your event-related posts will reach to people willing to attend a particular event.

Share the write-ups, notes, and blogs. Share related blogs of popular bloggers to engage more users and readers. Blog sharing brings more audience to your page as you capture the readers of those bloggers to your shared posts. Not everyone on the social media is there to shop and scroll, but there are other people as well who are keen readers and read. Readers tend to make a different zone for themselves, by reading a variety of blogs either on recent news or interesting topics.

C stands for connections and content sharing. Building connections is not a child’s play. You have to connect to people by hook or crook, as that is what matters. Connections will increase your reach, and make other people aware of your brand. Why do you think you will be promoting your brand? Only to rise your business! With the maximum number of people knowing about your brand, you develop trust among your connections by sharing regular and authentic posts on your social media.

Inter relatedly, you build loyal connections by sharing the content on your social media platform. Personally messaging your potential customer and sending them friend requests on Facebook, following people on Instagram, and making connections on LinkedIn.

With this new ABC, you can rock ‘n’ roll your social media marketing. Go and ace it!
